The former Olori, Chanel Akanbi has come out to claim that her former husband, Oluwo of Iwo used to beat her and even cheated on her with their maid while they were married.

A couple in Lagos has been arrested for the death of their 19-year-old housemaid. Mr and Mrs Fortune Stephens, (pictured left) were arrested by Operatives of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) of the Lagos State Police Command for the death of Joy Okom Adole, at their home at number 18 Ogundola street, in the Bariga area of the state. The couple called the police to report that their housemaid had committed suicide at their home on April 20th following a misunderstanding.

Presidents of West African countries under the aegis of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government have appointed President Buhari as the ''Champion'' that will coordinate the COVID-19 response in the sub-region. A statement issued by Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Femi Adesina, said the appointment took place today Thursday, April 23, at the Extraordinary ECOWAS Summit on COVID-19 which was held via teleconferencing under the Chairmanship of His Excellency, Mahamadou Issoufou, President of the Republic of Niger.

Governor Ayade appoints 19-year-old as personal assistant on technical affairs

Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, has appointed 19-year-old Louis Okon as his Personal Assistant on Technical (Data Management) Affairs, making him the youngest political appointee in Nigeria. Okon was amongst the additional 427 aides appointed by Governor Ayade in Calabar on Monday. Those appointed include chairmen and members of boards of agencies as well as special assistants.

COVID-19: ''They are infested'' Oyo state government to return 1,800 bags of rice donated by FG as palliatives

The Oyo state government says it is currently in the process of returning the 1800 bags of rice the Federal government donated to the state as palliatives to cushion the economic impact of the Coronavirus pandemic. Executive Assistant to the state governor, Seyi Makinde, on Agribusiness, Dr Debo Akande, explained that the 1,800 bags of rice from the Federal Government were infested with weevil and not suitable for consumption.
