Another Nigerian Doctor Olumide Okunuga, Dies Of Coronavirus In Canada.

63-year-old Nigerian pathologist, Olumide Okunuga, has died of coronavirus, the doctor who lived in Italy, contracted the disease during a visit to Canada. This was made known by the minister of state for health, Adeleke Mamora while addressing journalists in Abuja on Monday while giving an update on the COVID-19 situation in the country.

Coronavirus: Italian patient tries to escape isolation centre in Lagos (photos)


The 44-year-old Italian, who is being held at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba, Lagos, has made attempts to escape from the facility. A health worker at the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, who did not want to be named, told Punch that the man was angry and attempted to escape over the state of the centre.

Nigeria has recorded the first case of the deadly coronavirus, which broke out in China in January 2020. It was confirmed by the Ministry of Health in Lagos State, which reported it to the Federal Ministry of Health. The case was confirmed on the 27th of February 2020.
