Governor Rotimi Akeredelo has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus. The 63-year-old Ondo state governor announced this at a press conference in Akure, the state capital today June 30.''I had malaria a few days ago and was treated.
I did get over it and as at the time we had our party NEC and my colleagues called on me, I spoke with one of them who felt that malaria shouldn't be treated lightly but that I should go ahead and have a test for COVID19. The result comes out today June 30 and I tested positive. I am asymptomatic. I am not feeling sick nor feeling hot in any way but my doctors have decided I should take the normal treatment and self-isolate. I believe that supervised home management will be ideal for me for now and so from now I will be isolated and go on with the supervised home management'' he said Ondo state currently has 276 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
