BREAKING: Court awards N200,000 damages against DSS for Sowore
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has awarded N200,000 damages against the Department of State Security(DSS) payable to the convener of #RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore.

Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, arrived the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Wednesday morning in solidarity with Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, who is being prosecuted for convening the #RevolutionNow protest. Soyinka arrived the court ahead of the proceedings scheduled to commence at 9 am.

HEARING will continue today at the Federal High Court in Abuja in the trial against #RevolutionNow Convener Omoyele Sowore.On December 6, 2019, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu adjourned till February 11, 12 and 13, 2020, for definite hearing in the trial. But the court did not sit yesterday as Justice Ojukwu was sitting outside the division.

The Oyo State Executive Council yesterday approved the Bill and transmitted it to the House of Assembly. Today, the Ondo State Executive Council will approve the Bill, according to a member of the Council.

DETAILS of the operational guideline of the Southwest security outfit, Operation Amotekun, has emerged. According to the draft bill for the security outfit which is before state legislatures, obtained by The Nation, a governing board with sweeping powers will oversee the security outfit in each of the states. But the day-to-day activity will be run by the Amotekun corps commander, to be appointed by the governor. It is a uniform bill that will be passed by each of the six states of Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti legislatures.
