Former President Olusegun Obasanjo's house in Ogun State was gutted by fire which started in the late hours of yesterday February 12. The fire which began around 9.30pm in a section of the house located at Ita-Eko area of the state, is believed to have been caused by a power surge.

Nigerian troops deployed to Moriki, Zamfara State, on Monday intercepted a motorcyclist with a bag filled with ammunition that was disguised as a bag of rice. According to military sources, the motorcyclist escaped but the bike and the bag of ammunition were seized.

Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau gives condition for Chibok girls' release, warns President Buhari not to return to Borno


Abubakar Shekau, the factional leader of Boko Haram sect, has given a condition under which the remaining Chibok schoolgirls that are being held in captivity, would be released. In a video released to the Cable, Shekau said the schoolgirls would be set free if the federal government let go of the sect members currently in detention.
