Farewell to Gen Muhammadu Buhari

Muhammadu Buhari, retired Major General, former military Head of State, and two-time elected President of Nigeria, bowed to the cold hands of death on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at an upscale London clinic at 82. His passing brought to an end a prolonged history of illness and hospitalisation that pervaded his eight-year tenure between 2015 and 2023.

KWAM1’s disturbing airport drama

Fuji musician, “King” Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, KWAM1, was last week Wednesday embroiled in a Nollywood-like drama that baffled many at the Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, NAIA. In a viral video, he was seen in front of a Lagos-bound, departure-ready Value Jet aircraft, arguing with some officials.

Kidnapping, a thriving “industry”!

The latest report by SBM Intelligence should jolt Nigeria’s leaders into reality. Between July 2024 and June 2025, kidnappers demanded more than N48 billion in ransom. SBM Intelligence’s study titled “The Locust Business: The Economics of Nigeria’s Kidnap Industry – A 2025 Update” confirmed that N2.56 billion was paid as ransom, with 4,722 civilians abducted within the said period.
