South African anti-apartheid icon, Andrew Mlangeni, dies at 95

South African anti-apartheid figure, Andrew Mlangeni, who stood trial alongside Nelson Mandela in the 1963-64 Rivonia Trial, has died at the age of 95. Mlangeni's death was announced on Wednesday, July 22. He was the last surviving Rivonia trialist, spending more than a quarter of a century imprisoned on Cape Town’s notorious Robben Island before his release in 1989.

Professor Kemebradikumo Pondei, acting managing director of the NDDC, today disclosed that the Commission under his stewardship, paid N641 million to one Clear Point communication, to help employ persons to help identify projects being executed by the commission in the region. When asked to explain what the money was paid for and if it was budgeted for, Pondei said the money was paid to Clear Point Communications for a variety of purposes all related to the Forensic audit.

How EFCC’s Magu was arrested


More details have emerged on how Ibrahim Magu, acting EFCC chairman, was whisked away by security agents earlier today. Mr. Magu’s arrest on Monday afternoon at the Wuse II office of the EFCC. Multiple sources said that the security agents who arrested Mr. Magu took him directly to the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he was to appear before a presidential panel investigating alleged corruption and insubordination.
