Deeper Life School has reacted with a statement to allegations of a JSS 1 pupil was sexually abused in the Akwa Ibom branch of the school. In a viral video on Facebook, Deborah Okezie, Davis’ mum cried out to Nigerians, pleading for help to get justice for her son who was consistently starved and molested by his senior students at the Uyo Campus of the school despite the full payment of school fees.
Davis in the video had alleged that he was forced to starve for days, beaten for bedwetting and also sent to a hostel for senior students where he was also abused. Deeper Life High School management in a statement stated that such is not tolerated in the institution and investigation is ongoing. They added that once the investigation is over, anyone found culpable in the abuse of the child student or teacher “will not be spared”. They added that in the meantime, “the school principal has been suspended summarily”. See a copy of the school’s statement below;
t Don Davis’ mother was said to have gone to pick him up on a Friday from the school and was the last person to pick up her child there. However, she noticed that he looked sick and had not been attended to. The mother also alleged that she noticed her son was not able to sit properly, which prompted her to check his buttocks. From the look of his anus, Deborah said her son had been sexually molested.
