Lori Iro Kidnapping is not on the rise, forget what you see on social media - Police PRO Olumuyiwa Adejobi says (video)

Amid growing concerns over the surge in kidnappings and insecurity in Nigeria, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, addressed the public in an interview.
Speaking on Channels Television on Thursday, Feb. 1, the police PRO asserted that there is no rise in kidnapping incidents in the southwestern part of the country. Adejobi attributed the cause of the kidnappings to topography and waterways. He said: “In most cases, it is the topography of the areas. The kidnapping in Lagos was actually triggered due to the waterways, do you know that the waterway from Lagos leads to Delta, leads to Portharcourt, leads to Bayelsa. It is the same waterway.” The PRO who also reiterated on his X page said that most of the kidnapping cases reported online were either staged or faked. He wrote, “Most of the kidnapping cases we read online are not real. They are either staged or faked. We analyze security situations based on empirical facts and figures. “We will have another forum or many other organizations to discuss these concepts of kidnapping, abduction, one change, armed robbery, organized crimes, and arranged assassination. “These are different concepts or crimes that we need to understand, and the psychology of the perpetrators. No sentiment, but realities. “Open your mind to discussions and explanations of experts and security operatives for better understanding.”
